Real photovoltaic self-consumption
After the latest EU directive, I own the energy that falls on my roof.
Every 10 m2 produce approximately 1kWh and generate annual energy savings of 500€.
EU legislation on renewable energies
The EU, a pioneer in renewable energy, has made considerable efforts in its legislation to better integrate renewable sources into European energy systems. In its quest to be a world leader in this field, the EU has set a clear path for others to follow.
In December 2018, the 2009 Directive was revised and integrated into a clean energy package for all Europeans. A mandatory target of at least 32% renewables by 2030 was set, with a clause providing for a possible upward revision by 2023.
Even more ambitiously, the European Green Pact outlines a series of initiatives in all areas to make the EU climate neutral by 2050. Renewable energies, together with energy efficiency, are a key energy pillar that will help us reach this ambitious target.
As part of this effort, the European Commission will put forward new measures to incorporate technological advances in all sectors of the energy system. This initiative for so-called "smart sectoral integration" will help create the European energy system of the future. Source: European Union
